Sea Scouts at Albert Park Lake

The 1st Victorian Sea Scouts are looking for adult leaders to help out with our growing program.  We have a fantastic facility on Albert Park Lake near the centre of Melbourne. The Sea Scouts are organized according to the ages of the Scouts:
  • Cubs, girls and boys ages 7-10, currently meeting Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00pm
  • Scouts, girls and boys ages 11-14, currently meeting Monday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00pm
  • Venturers, girls and boys ages 15-17, currently meeting Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30pm

In addition to the weekly meetings the scouts also go on outings. Activities include hiking, camping, canoeing, bicycling, bowling, games nights, etc.

Not all adult leaders need to have the traditional scouting or sailing skills.  The main requirement is that you enjoy being around kids and eager to grow with the group.  There are leadership roles open for adults who want to plan, operate and grow the program.  There are also places for adults who just want to get involved on a part time or casual basis.

Scouts Australia offers additional training at many levels for adult leaders.  All expenses are covered by the Scouts.
